For nearly a century, FRMCU has grown and adapted as the financial needs of the community and its members have changed. FRMCU has always looked to provide the best products, delivered with a personal touch, to meet the financial needs of those it serves.  Throughout FRMCU’s 95 years of serving members, the core values of trust and member focused service have always been first and foremost.

What began with a handful of Fall River Firefighters, an old cigar box as a cash draw and a locker at the Pocasset Fire Station, only serving municipal employees, has turned into a full-service credit union offering a wide range of financial products.  FRMCU has supplemented the basic savings and checking accounts by adding on-line and mobile options for members to access their accounts. Additionally, by being part of the AllPoint ATM network and Co-op Shared branching network, members have access to their accounts at 55,000 ATMs worldwide surcharge free, and at over 5,400 credit union branch locations.  FRMCU also offers a variety of mortgage and loan options, including vehicle, home equity, boat and personal loans to help members with their financing needs.

“We are incredibly honored to reach this milestone of serving our members for 95 years and to the recent inclusion by Newsweek Magazine of FRMCU on its list of “America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions 2025” said Mathew G. Schondek, President & CEO of Fall River Municipal Credit Union.  “We are incredibly grateful for our employees, our members and all of those in the community that have helped up reach this amazing milestone.” Lastly, Mathew G. Schondek, President & CEO noted that “as we continue to grow and develop, we are excited to continue to remain innovative and serve our members with the “FOCUSED ON YOU” approach.”

To celebrate this achievement, FRMCU will be commemorating with community focused events that will launch on February 6th.  On February 7th be on the lookout for a community coffee day that will take place at the Pink Been in Somerset as well as New Boston Road Bakery.  This is a way to give back to the community that has brought us to this milestone.
