Manchester, NH – New Hampshire Governor Christopher Sununu purchased the first 2025 Make-A-Wish (MAW) Calendar last week at a special kick-off celebration at the State House with a Make-A-Wish New Hampshire wish family and representatives from New Hampshire’s Credit Unions.
The New Hampshire Credit Unions Social Responsibility Committee sponsors the MAW Calendar now in its 18th year. The calendars, limited to 2,500, give the recipient chances to win daily, weekly, and monthly cash prizes all year-long. “Almost all 2,500 calendars have been distributed for purchase at participating credit unions throughout the state and they are striving to sell them all,” stated Brian Hughes, NH Social Responsibility Committee Chair and President & CEO of Holy Rosary Credit Union.
“We look forward every year to this event. Working with Make-A-Wish New Hampshire is extremely rewarding for credit union staff and members. It is always great when the governor helps kick-off our calendar sales of the season by purchasing the first calendar in the state,” remarked Hughes. “The support of the New Hampshire Credit Unions over these past 28 years truly shows the spirit of community and we are very proud to play a big role in helping grant wishes for these great kids.”
Make-A-Wish New Hampshire CEO Julie Baron expressed her appreciation of all the New Hampshire Credit Unions, the governor, and the credit union community at-large for their leadership and ability to see the importance of what a wish means. “Together, we are changing the lives of so many children in New Hampshire facing critical illnesses…one child at a time,” said Baron. “Our credit union partners have instinctively known for the past 28 years that granting a child’s heartfelt wish provides them with not only hope, strength and joy but also a positive turning point in their fight against their illness.”
Governor Sununu purchased Calendar, #82, from Wish Child Hayden who autographed the governor's calendar. The calendar represents Sununu’s status as the Granite State’s 82nd Governor. The group presented him with a special thank you gift, all sharing their deep appreciation for his continued and steadfast support over the years. Governor Sununu was grateful for the memento and commented on its significance by saying, “ hearing individual wish stories make all the difference in the world by changing one’s outlook on life and engaging more people to become involved.”
